Online Therapy in California
You deserve to feel better now.
Hi! I’m Whitney. I’m here to help you feel better during pregnancy and motherhood.
I help parents and mothers during and after pregnancy using Attachment-based therapy.
My approach offers a pathway out of burnout and overwhelm, helping new mothers enjoy pregnancy and early parenthood.
We all carry a silent load that can become overwhelming. Times of change, and in particular, starting a family and raising children, can feel like too much. It’s normal to need extra help. Sometimes therapy can make an immediate and profound change in your daily emotional state. Just being heard and appreciated for how much you are doing and going through can be transformative, and can clear the path to identifying what needs are going unmet. We will sort through all of this together to help you identify your true needs, and get you feeling supported and on stable ground again.
No matter what stage of life you are in, it is normal and commendable to explore ways to care for yourself. Living in a competitive culture takes a toll, and it is easy to lose touch with the kind of self-care that is required, especially when starting a family. Staying true to yourself can feel like an insurmountable task. Who even is “yourself?” It’s normal to not know. To forget. To need help finding your way back.
My approach is based Attachment theory, which explains how humans learn to trust and feel safe in the world. It highlights each person’s need for safe human connections and the roles our early caregiver relationships play in how we know, respect and understand ourselves and others as adults.
It takes courage and trust to reach out for help. By making a call or sending an email, you’re already taking a huge step toward feeling more calm, ease, and peace. It’s not magic, it’s not only for certain kinds of people. It’s available to you.

Parenting
It seems like everywhere you look, there’s a new parenting approach. Everyone has their philosophy, there are new, flashy terms, and people can be fiercely vocal about how their way is “right.” Of course, on some level you know this isn’t true. There is no “right” way. But the stakes are high, and you love your kids and would do anything to give them the best start in life.
I offer parenting support as part of individual therapy and couple’s therapy.

Perinatal
This is a sacred time of life, but the world doesn’t slow down even though our instincts and nature call for a protective and slow time. Pregnancy, labor and birth, and beginning a new chapter with a baby are transformational experiences that can be both profoundly beautiful and extremely taxing. If you are someone with a trauma history, these experiences can be particularly triggering and can bring up intense feelings or memories that may have been hidden for a long time.

Anxiety
Anxiety is incredibly common, and it’s not surprising given all the information and pressure we experience as modern people. No matter what your current circumstances are in life if you are living with anxiety, there are options for you to feel better. And therapy with a trusted therapist can lead to deep and lasting change.
